Your private guide will meet you at Istanbul port or your hotel at your preferred time. Istanbul is a unique city that spans two continents and has served as the capital for three significant empires: Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman, for over 2000 years. Our tour begins at Hippodrome Square, a historical site where chariot races and Byzantine riots took place during the Roman and Byzantine periods. A short walk from there will bring us to the renowned Blue Mosque, famous for its exquisite blue Iznik tiles. We will then continue on foot to Topkapi Palace, which not only served as the residence of Ottoman sultans but also functioned as the administrative and educational hub of the empire. The palace was built between 1460 and 1478 under the rule of Sultan Mehmed II, who conquered Constantinople. Our visit to Topkapi Palace will include exploring the treasury, Chinese Porcelain collection, and the weapons section. Finally, we will drive back to the port, concluding our services.
Important information to note:
• The minimum required time for this tour is 4.5 hours.
• Please note that Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays, the Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays and Turkish public and religious holidays, and the Jewish museum and Synagogues are closed on Saturdays and during Jewish holidays.
• On these specific days, alternative museums/sites will be substituted in the itinerary based on convenience and schedule. The order of visits may also be changed for the smooth running of the tour.
